Well, I wanted to hold off until the election day got a little closer to do my prediction but I figured that there is really nothing else that is going to happen to drastically change the outcomes. So here they are.

Spiraling and Spiraling...

When I turn on the TV, or get on the internet, there are many things that I get sick of hearing about that I wish the media could just forget about. But never in my life have I ever gotten so sick of hearing about a certain "Joe the Plumber". It seems like every time I check up on the news, there he is in the spotlight. The Republican party has blown this completely out of proportion and it shows the desperation of John McCain. Never before in a presidential race been revolved around getting a nobody to be the spotlight of your campaign (with all respect Palin). I don't know why McCain think it's going to work now. But like I said, maybe he thinks this change is for the better.
For those of you who don't really know 'Joe', here is a little background. One day, a guy was talking to Obama on his campaign trail about his policies and plans as president. Later, this same person criticized Obama of being a socialist with his healthcare plans and other policies. So McCain learned about this and as we all know, used it repeatedly in the third and final debate and was quick to become the centerpiece of his campaign.
But there is a lot of irony in this whole story. The guy's name really isn't Joe. He wants to buy the plumbing company his boss owns that does not make over the $250,000 that Obama has planned for higher taxes. And he hasn't been quite the best on paying his taxes in the first place. McCain has stood up for this 'Joe' and mislead the entire nation in what Obama's plans really are. He is raging on with one of the most negative campaigns in the history of any presidential campaign. McCain has taken his level of desperation to new heights with this whole issue. It was kind of funny in the debate after the third time but after the eighteenth, I was ready to turn the channel.
It now has come to a level that you can get on a website and submit your own 30 second ad to the McCain campaign as to why Obama shouldn't be the president and if it is selected as the winner, it will be used by McCain. Um...uh...really? How has politics come to this level? Is it really that hard to encourage people to become excited over politics that you have to bribe them with a contest? This sickens me. I'll tell you how to encourage people. You tell the Americans what's wrong with the present state of the nation and you tell them how you plan on fixing it. Quit using fear and desperation to try and scare people to your vote. Politics is quickly going off the deep end and I'm not quite sure if anybody is going to fix it. I'm scared to see what's going to happen in the future.

19 Days and counting...

Throughout this whole campaign, there has been one question on my mind and that is, how are Michigan Republicans still supporting McCain even though he has given up completely on the state of Michigan? Granted, Michigan has in the past always voted Democrat but to just publicly announce you are pulling out of a state and giving up on it? If only we would do that with Iraq. But as I go to school everyday, I see McCain poster after McCain poster and it makes me laugh. Let's say you are the owner of the Lions, maybe the worst team in all of sports. Regardless of the fact of how bad you are, you still have thousands upon thousands of fans. If you go through a rough patch are you seriously going to give up on your fans and just say, 'Well, let's pack it up, there's no hope here.' No, you don't give up. You keep fighting because you still have a bunch of undecided voters across America. Does this mean that if McCain takes office and there is something that he thinks he can't manage, he's just going to give up? That's kind of scary to me. For the first time ever, I actually agree with Sarah Palin on this issue. She says that there are still auto workers in Michigan and many unemployed people that they might be able to win over and they should still be fighting here. But of course, she only found out because a reporter told her what she should have already known.

I've talked to a bunch of people about the candidates and it's always the same, 'I don't think McCain is the right answer for us but I don't know if I can bring myself to vote for a black man.' This to me is sick. Haven't we gotten over the issue of race? I don't understand how narrow minded people are sometimes. How long has the black man had to vote for a white man? Isn't it okay if we have to change this routine if it is better for America?

And I have looked into the future and thought about different scenarios that could play out. Unfortunately, I think that there is a good possibility that McCain could pass away in office. And I also believe that since the world is apparently borderline racist, there is a possibility that Obama could be assassinated in his first term. Let's just hope that neither of these scenarios actually play out because that's the last thing that our country needs. But if one of them were to happen, we have to look at the vice-presidential candidates more seriously than we ever have before. If McCain dies, does America really think that Palin can handle it? I'll admit, she was a good politician from what she came from, but can she really handle the most powerful political position in the world? McCain openly stated that Joe Biden is well qualified if ever he had to take the position. I think it is funny though how he selected Palin and they disagree on many subjects such as some abortion issues and stem cell research, but that's just me.

Also, I don't think we can really call the debates 'debates'. The reason being is because if you watched the last one, all it is is McCain spitting out lies about Obama and vice versa and the other one goes on some other tangent. It's all a joke. The debates don't help anybody make a decision that haven't already but it further drives them away from the two of them. And the people who have made a decision just believes their candidate won. We'll see what happens and I'm sure I will be making another post soon.

My Joke of the Year

I'm just going to get right down to the point here. Sarah Palin is the most unqualified person in the entire country for the Vice Presidential office. Just some background for those of you who don't know her. OK, here I go, umm...ahhh.....well that was basically it. I, along with most Americans, do not know anything about this woman. She can see Russia from her house, which I guess makes her qualified for foreign policy. Well I went to Mexico once. Can I be Secretary of State? But in all seriousness, she was a mayor of a town with a population of around 7,000. And she was governor of Alaska. Alaska's population is around 670,000 people. This is 8% of New York City's population of 8.2 million. 8% of an entire city's population. Come on McCain, you could've at least picked Romney or Paul or somebody of a little higher qualification.

But that's another thing that really scares me. To think that McCain has met her once and talked to her on the phone once before picking her to run for the second highest office in America. This definitely has to say something about McCain's credibility. Would you have done the same thing if you were in McCain's shoes? I didn't think so and if you just answered that question as yes, you're a liar and are in denial. It's the bottom of the ninth in the seventh game of the World Series bases are loaded with two outs. Are you going to put in a rookie or are you going to put in a well-groomed veteran? And again, if you answered a rookie, you're a liar and in denial. And you're horrible with sports.

But if you get a chance and want a good laugh, YouTube interviews with Sarah Palin. The on with Couric is my favorite. Shes asked about many different things and she resorts back to the same answer over and over and it seems like she was told what her opinions were because when answering a question, it is always John McCain, McCain, McCain. If you're running for the Vice Presidential office, I expect you know what the Bush Doctrine is and have an opinion on what it's all about. A lot of conservatives are saying that it's not her job to know and that she is trying to cram a lot of knowledge in so she knows what she is doing before she gets to the White House. If the VP candidate is trying to cram and has been cramming for the past four weeks and still doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is, you should get the fear that you made a fatal mistake to your campaign.

A lot of conservatives were quick to jump on the bandwagon of "Obama isn't qualified enough". And I completely understood that. He wasn't and still isn't the most qualified candidate for the position. But when the commercials were rolling about Obama being a celebrity and not being a solid politician and it was just starting to reach it's maximum height, McCain picked Palin as his running mate. This decision even made conservatives heads turn. When your party questions your decision making and still isn't in full agreement of the pick, a flag should go up somewhere. And by the way, where is that commercial now? Every time I turn the station to a local channel, I rarely see that commercial anymore. So I guess in a way a flag did go up somewhere, they just kept it hidden in the dark because god forbid if anybody in Washington could accept defeat.

And the world has become so soft that the cast at SNL had to apologize for their skits about Palin. When has SNL ever had to apologize for anything??? Is it because the Republicans really don't want their poor nobody get ripped on? Sorry but SNL has been the one thing in America that was always politically incorrect for all the right reasons. They bring humor to real life events who are sick of hearing the serious sides of things. SNL has made fun of Bush more than a few times, I don't hear the conservatives begging on their knees for an apology there. Oh, wait, that won't affect the voting come November 4th. It doesn't look good for the Republicans if they have somebody bash their candidate on a National stage. But they need to take some looks around. If they are going to ask for an apology from Tina Fey, they must ask an apology from everybody in the media who as bashed Palin. But maybe that would be too hard to do seeing that every media falls under this category.

I'm planning on doing a study abroad my spring semester of my sophomore year and if McCain and Palin win this election, I just may stay out of the country.

Keep your change???

Well, today I was in town and I saw a bumper sticker that read, "NObama...keep your change." This really gets me scared. The fact that they don't want Obama in the office doesn't mind me. After all, people do have their different opinions. But the second part of this message really frightens me. To think that people still want more of the same that they have been stuck with for the last eight years makes me wonder where these people come from. Who in their right mind would not want some change brought to DC? The economy is in the worst state it's ever been in other than the crash of 1929, the war is still raging on, the icecaps are melting, and the constitution has been almost void for the past eight years. To think that somebody wants to keep living with this all over their own country's name is shocking. This is someone who truly is unpatriotic, somebody who is fine with it's country be the laughing stock of the rest of the world in it's present state. Although, 31% of people still approve the job that Bush is doing as president, which if you ask me is still a very high number. No matter what, ANYBODY could get into the White House and do better job than Bush is. Heck, the republicans already proved that by picking Sarah Palin, don't even get me started on that. But in all seriousness, I really hope anybody who has these "NObama" bumper stickers are not allowed to vote. Anybody who is thickheaded enough to actually think that Obama or McCain can't do a better job than our present administration, should be stripped of all voting privileges. Please give me any feedback that would help me process these people's thoughts and if you are one of these people, "NOBush...Keep yourself at home on November 4th."

This Isn't Working

So, I'm pretty bad at keeping this thing up to date so I'm going to try something new. Instead of sticking with what I have been doing, I'm just going to talk about random events that happen to me and some of my thoughts on things. Hope that works better.

A Night Out

Last night, I went with my parents to a party in Lake Isabella with a bunch of people there including Kris and Brandi and their crew, almost the whole B'dubs crew, Trevor and Bonnie, Jackson, Mike F., and a couple of other people who go to the bar. The night started out great with Trevor and Mike doing a celebratory try at the beer bong. For Trevor, it wasn't the only one either. There was supposed to be a bonfire but with the thunderstorm that was over us ALL night, it was a bit impossible. But Trevor and me had different plans. As Trevor went home to grab the fireworks, I went to find a lighter. And we sent the fireworks off in. It was great except for the biggest one that we had went out due to the rain. It was disappointing. But as the night went on, there was only one thing that kept getting worse and worse, alright maybe more than one, but the biggest one was the Junebugs!! They were terrible. They were dive bombing themselves into the food, on the people (mainly Bonnie and Mom), and covering the outside wall of the garage. It was disgusting. But the other thing that kept getting progressively worse and worse was........my mom. Simply put my mom. Lets just say it was another one of those times where she wanted to pass out in the grass outside. Only reason she didn't this time was because of the rain and the Junebugs. But overall, it was a great night out and I hope that the party before my open house is just as fun! Hope to see you there!
